U.S. terms. These Terms apply only to the Bifrost service offered in the United States. They do not replace the agreement for the China-region service.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Beijing Yanwan Technology Co., Ltd. (“Bifrost,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the Bifrost mobile application and the U.S. service made available through it (the “Service”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Bifrost Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use Bifrost for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes it.
Eligibility
The U.S. Service is not available to children under 13. If you are at least 13 but have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. That adult should review these Terms with you and is responsible for your use to the extent permitted by law.
You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so, if we previously terminated your account for serious or repeated violations, or if you are using the Service on behalf of a person who is not eligible. We may take reasonable steps to confirm eligibility.
Accounts and Registration
You must provide accurate registration information, keep it current, and maintain control of the phone number and device used for your account. One person should not create misleading, automated, bulk, or duplicate accounts. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access.
Do not share verification codes or allow another person to impersonate you. Contact thebifrost@126.com promptly if you lose access to your phone number, believe your account was compromised, or receive a verification request you did not initiate.
Phone Number Verification
Bifrost uses SMS verification for U.S. account registration and access. By requesting a code, you authorize us and our SMS provider to send an account or security message to the number you provide. Message and data rates charged by your carrier may apply. Verification messages are transactional, not marketing messages.
You represent that you are authorized to use the phone number. Because carriers may reassign numbers, tell us or delete the account before giving up the number. We may limit repeated requests, reject unsupported or suspicious numbers, and use reasonable anti-abuse checks.
User Profiles
Your profile helps other users understand who you are and whether your goals may be compatible. You may add a nickname, profile image, gender, region, birthday or zodiac sign, MBTI type, time zone, biography, interests, and goals. You are responsible for keeping profile information accurate and for choosing what to make visible.
Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity or intentions, use an image without permission, or place contact details or highly sensitive information in a public field if you do not want other users to see it. Bifrost may remove misleading, unsafe, unlawful, or infringing profile content.
User Content
“User Content” includes profiles, goals, posts, diary-style entries, comments, images, voice recordings, messages, shared to-dos, check-ins, reactions, reports, and other material you submit through the Service.
You retain ownership of your User Content. You represent that you own it or have all permissions needed to submit it and grant the license below, and that the content and our permitted use of it do not violate law, another person’s rights, confidentiality obligations, or these Terms.
You control whether to publish or send content, but you should assume that recipients can save or share what they receive. Bifrost cannot control copies another user makes outside the Service. Do not share content that would create a serious risk if it became public.
License Granted by Users
To operate the Service, you grant Bifrost a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, format, and otherwise use your User Content solely as needed to:
- provide it to the audience and participants you select;
- operate messaging, matching, social, shared-activity, backup, and support functions;
- moderate content, investigate reports, secure the Service, and enforce these Terms; and
- make technical changes such as compression, resizing, transcoding, or formatting needed for compatible display and delivery.
This license allows us to use service providers for those purposes. It does not transfer ownership to Bifrost and does not authorize us to use private messages or voice recordings in advertising. The license ends when the content and account data are deleted from our systems, except to the extent the content remains in a copy another user independently retained outside Bifrost.
Bifrost Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, visual design, text created by Bifrost, trademarks, logos, product names, selection and arrangement of features, and other Bifrost materials, is owned by Bifrost or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, Bifrost grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app for your own lawful, noncommercial use of the Service. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, publicly distribute, reverse engineer, bypass technical protections, or create derivative works from the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Copyright complaints
If you believe User Content infringes your copyright, email thebifrost@126.com with the subject “Copyright Complaint.” Identify the copyrighted work, the material and its location in Bifrost, your contact information, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, a statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove or restrict content and may terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
Acceptable Use
Use Bifrost for lawful social connection, mutual support, goal-based companionship, shared activities, and expression. Treat other users with respect, respect their privacy and boundaries, and use reporting and blocking tools when appropriate. Follow feature instructions and reasonable safety or technical limits.
You are responsible for deciding whether a person, goal, suggestion, or interaction is appropriate for you. Matching and shared-activity features are tools for connection; they are not professional counseling, medical care, emergency assistance, employment placement, financial advice, or a guarantee of results.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to:
- threaten, harass, bully, stalk, exploit, blackmail, or encourage violence or self-harm;
- sexually exploit any person, solicit sexual content from a minor, groom a minor, or publish non-consensual intimate content;
- impersonate, deceive, defraud, manipulate, or operate a scam, pyramid scheme, or unauthorized commercial solicitation;
- publish illegal, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, privacy-invasive, obscene, or infringing content;
- share another person’s private information, image, voice, communications, or location without lawful permission;
- buy, sell, transfer, scrape, harvest, or use account or user data for surveillance, facial recognition, advertising, or unauthorized profiling;
- send spam, malware, automated messages, or content designed to disrupt or compromise the Service or another device;
- bypass access controls, probe security, reverse engineer, manipulate metrics, evade a suspension, or access an account or system without authorization;
- use bots or automated tools without written permission from Bifrost; or
- help another person do any of the above.
Content Moderation, Reports, and Enforcement
Bifrost uses automated content-safety services and human review to detect and respond to content or conduct that may violate law or these Terms. Users may report content or accounts and may block another user. We may review reported content, related account information, and relevant communications when reasonably needed to investigate.
Depending on the circumstances, we may limit visibility, remove content, issue a warning, restrict a feature, suspend or terminate an account, preserve or disclose information when legally required, or refer an imminent threat or suspected crime to appropriate authorities. Enforcement decisions may consider context, severity, repetition, risk, and available evidence.
Moderation is not perfect, and we are not able to review every interaction before it occurs. If you believe we made an error, contact us with enough information to identify the account or content and explain the issue. We may decline to restore material that is unsafe, unlawful, infringing, or inconsistent with these Terms.
Safety and Interactions Between Users
Bifrost does not routinely conduct criminal-background or identity checks on every user. Online profiles can be incomplete or inaccurate. Use your judgment, protect personal and financial information, keep initial conversations in the app, and never send money or verification codes to another user.
If you decide to communicate or meet outside Bifrost, you do so at your own risk. Consider telling someone you trust, meeting in a public place, arranging your own transportation, and leaving if you feel unsafe. Bifrost is not an emergency service. In the United States, call 911 or contact the appropriate emergency service if anyone faces immediate danger.
Report suspected exploitation, threats, scams, impersonation, or other serious misuse through the in-app reporting tools or by email. Blocking prevents future in-app contact through the blocked relationship but cannot control conduct outside Bifrost.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Service depends on app stores, mobile carriers, operating systems, cloud infrastructure, SMS delivery, push notifications, and content-moderation providers. Their separate products and accounts are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Bifrost is not responsible for a third-party service outside our control.
Links posted by Bifrost or users may lead outside the Service. A link does not mean Bifrost endorses the destination. Review the destination before providing information, downloading software, or entering a transaction.
Purchases and Payments
The current U.S. Service does not offer paid membership, in-app purchases, subscriptions, or other paid Bifrost services. Bifrost therefore does not currently collect payment-card or billing information through the U.S. Service.
If a paid feature is introduced, the price, billing party, taxes, renewal status, cancellation process, and material purchase terms will be shown before you authorize payment. We will not treat silence or continued use of the current free Service as consent to a charge.
Physical Products and Fulfillment
The current U.S. Service does not sell or fulfill books or other physical products and does not provide warehousing, printing, shipping, or delivery services. Use of the current Service does not create a right to receive a physical item.
If physical products are later offered, separate purchase terms will identify the seller, product, price, shipping area, delivery method, taxes, return or refund rules, and any content or production requirements before an order is placed.
Cancellation, Refunds, and Unused Benefits
Because the current U.S. Service does not offer purchases or paid benefits, there is currently no Bifrost charge to cancel, refund, or leave unused. Deleting an account ends access to the free Service but does not create a payment or refund claim.
If Bifrost later offers paid services, applicable cancellation, refund, and unused-benefit terms will be disclosed at purchase and will comply with mandatory law and applicable app-store rules. These Terms do not make any future service automatically renewable or non-refundable.
Promotional Activities and Check-In Programs
Ordinary shared to-dos and check-ins are social features. Unless a specific written promotion says otherwise, completing an activity, streak, or companionship period does not entitle a user to money, a prize, publication, a book, or another product.
The “21-day check-in to publish a book” program is not part of the current U.S. Service. There is no current U.S. book voucher, purchase requirement, publication promise, printing standard, shipping commitment, or related refund rule. If Bifrost launches such a program in the United States, separate program and purchase terms will be presented before participation or payment.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Bifrost at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created a safety or security risk, infringed rights, used the Service unlawfully, failed eligibility requirements, or exposed Bifrost or another person to material harm.
Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue. We may act without advance notice when reasonably necessary to respond to serious harm, fraud, exploitation, security threats, legal requirements, or repeated violations. Termination ends the license to use the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, responsibility for prior conduct, disclaimers, liability, and dispute provisions, remain effective.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account through the account-deletion option in Bifrost Settings. Deletion is irreversible and ends access to the account, connections, messages, content, shared activities, and other account data.
When deletion completes, Bifrost deletes the account’s associated data from active systems and backups without retaining a separate account copy, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Bifrost cannot erase copies another person previously saved or shared outside the Service.
Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” BIFROST DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL OR OBJECTIONABLE CONDUCT.
Bifrost does not guarantee another user’s identity, statements, safety, compatibility, conduct, response, or completion of a goal or activity. Suggestions, check-ins, shared to-dos, and user content are not professional advice. You remain responsible for your decisions and interactions.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In that event, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BIFROST AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, REPUTATION, OPPORTUNITY, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, USER CONTENT, OR INTERACTIONS BETWEEN USERS.
These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law. They do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability that applicable law assigns for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury caused by conduct for which exclusion is prohibited. Your state may give you additional rights.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bifrost and its officers, directors, employees, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, your User Content, your material breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
This section does not require indemnification for Bifrost’s own unlawful conduct and does not waive any non-waivable consumer protection. We will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim and allow you to participate in the defense, subject to our right to protect our interests.
Governing Law
These Terms and the Service are governed by the laws that apply to the parties and the particular issue. These Terms do not select the law of a particular U.S. state, and they do not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections available where you live.
Because the U.S. Service is operated by Beijing Yanwan Technology Co., Ltd. from China, cross-border legal and procedural rules may apply. The company should obtain U.S. legal advice before adopting a specific state choice-of-law or exclusive-venue clause.
Dispute Resolution
Before filing a claim, you and Bifrost agree to make a reasonable, good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally. Email thebifrost@126.com with the subject “U.S. Legal Dispute” and describe the account, relevant facts, and requested resolution. This informal step does not shorten or waive any legal deadline.
If the matter is not resolved, either party may bring a claim in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration and do not include a class-action waiver. Nothing limits a right to seek urgent injunctive relief or to contact a regulator or law-enforcement agency.
Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service, our business, or applicable law changes. We will post the revised Terms at this address and change the “Last Updated” date. For a material change, we will provide reasonable additional notice before it takes effect when required. Continued use after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service and delete your account before the update takes effect.

Social, Matching, Messaging, and Group Features
Bifrost may suggest people based on profile information, stated goals, region or time zone, and Service activity. A suggestion is not an endorsement, identity verification, background check, compatibility finding, or promise that either user will interact.
A mutual “Light” or friend connection may enable one-to-one messaging, seven-day companionship, shared to-dos, check-ins, images, and voice messages. Participants can block or report each other. The current U.S. Service does not provide group messaging. If a group feature is later introduced, its audience and administrator controls will be shown in the feature and these Terms will be updated if necessary.
Shared to-dos and check-ins record activity that participants enter; Bifrost does not independently verify completion. A companion can end participation, stop responding, or remove content. Bifrost does not guarantee a relationship, response, completion streak, or personal outcome.
